About Us

We believe that the background of the partners of Jade First Aid & Safety will enable the clients’ needs to be met on an individual and personal basis. We feel that building a relationship with our clients is critical in providing their safest work environment. We are able to facilitate the highest quality training in all levels of WorkSafe BC Occupational First Aid courses, Canadian Red Cross courses, WHMIS, and ATV/UTV courses. We are able react quickly and seamlessly to changes in scheduling or course location and can provide customized, site-specific safety courses if required.

In addition to training we sell first aid and medical supplies. We have an extensive rental inventory that features top of the line equipment. We also offer first aid attendants with or without our Mobile Treatment Center.

Jade First Aid & Safety is also a proud supporter of local community events. We regularly volunteer first aid services and equipment for the Smithers Rodeo, Sprockids and numerous other events. In addition we provide first aid training to many non-profit and volunteer organization free of charge.

Our Team

JP

JP is our senior instructor. He has been teaching Canadian Red Cross first aid courses for over 18 years and OFA Level I and transportation for over 10 years. His easy going nature coupled with his extensive teaching background allows him to connect with students making learning easy and fun. JP’s 35 years as a full time paramedic for BC Ambulance Service allows him to translate the classroom into real world scenarios. JP received his instructor certification for ATV and is enjoying getting out of the classroom environment and teaching outdoors. When he is not working he is volunteering at Bulkley Valley Search and Rescue as a rope rescue instructor, search manager and team leader.

Giah

Giah was a BC Ambulance Paramedic for over 15 years where she worked in Terrace, Smithers and Vancouver. She returned to Smithers realizing the need for quality first aid & safety training and equipment. Giah is in charge of overall coordination of the business activities and is responsible for all the ordering. She has held a WCB Level III certificate since 1986, is currently a Canadian Red Cross Instructor Trainer and WorkSafe BC certified Industrial Audiometric Hearing Technician. When she is not putting out fires she enjoys working in her flower gardens, biking and spending time with her daughter.
